Built-in PEN Protection
Eliminate the need for any costly and disruptive groundworks on installation by having built in earthing of the EV charger. It is a mandatory requirement that all EV chargers are earthed either with a copper earth rod or with built in earthing via PEN protection. All the chargers we sell have built-in earthing which saves you money and time upon installation.
Built-in RCD
All EV chargers must be protected from electrical faults by either a built-in Type B RCD or an upstream Type B RCD located in a compliant garage unit or consumer unit connected to the EV charger. Type B RCD’s can also detect DC leakage and will disconnect the EV charger from all live conductors if detected, therefore providing safety to users and installers.
Apps
All the EV home chargers we sell come with a downloadable free app to provide a variety of features for end users. These include usage reports, charging status updates, remote locking features and the ability to schedule charge times at a time when electric tariffs are cheapest. If you are with energy providers such as Octopus Energy you can schedule EV home charging via the app to only charge when rates are at their cheapest during nightly hours, saving you potentially hundreds of pounds off your electric bill.

Here are some questions to think about …
- Do you want a tethered or untethered charger? A tethered EV charger is a charging unit which comes with a connected charging cable usually 5m in length. This removes the need to use your own charging cable.
- Do you wish to have an EV charger with a built in RCD or do you wish to have a separate upstream RCD housed in a garage unit or consumer unit?
- What aesthetics preferences do you have for your EV charging unit e.g. size and colour?
